The Devouring Void - The Great Disjoint

lyrics

(Consider your worldview through the eye of a noose)

Converging, as if through a lens.
Reality is all but subjective;
experience filtered through perception
and in the throes of a new despair: abjection

There are infinities
beyond imagining
found in fragments of a shattered psyche,
with provenance in theta waves;
miscommunicative neuronal pathways -
written in synaptic constellations.
A psychotic subingression made manifest:
borne into flesh

I've heard the funeral knell
I've felt torpor's languid spell
I've seen my colours greyed
I've been reduced to sequelae

Drown me submersed in pitch:
let me know the viscous weight.
Pervade and permeate my flesh,
my soul is lampblack stained.
Scathe me, unhem my stitch;
salve my existential ache.
Abrade and abnegate pretense:
I am become self-extirpation

Diverging, from a common point,
normality is all but perspective;
The great disjoint. Falsehood, misdirection,
and with the seeds of a new despair: conception

There are dark entities
of your imagining
long laid dormant like a malignancy
found in spontaneous gamma waves
and excess dopaminergic activity.
Written in synaptic constellations
A psychotic subingression made manifest:
borne into flesh.

"Every dream I've ever had,
every memory good or bad
in my mind I have remade
as over time they tend to fade
in greater detail than before
once the same and never more
but now my days are filled with gloom
for the ghost in every room"
